We had an incredible time at the 15th Annual Spring Break Kite Festival at North Central Park here in Laredo! It was awesome to see our community come together, bringing kites, lawn chairs, and plenty of smiles, ready for a sunny, windy, and fun-filled day. It felt like one big family gathering, with laughter and joy everywhere you looked.

Our PEG Energy team loved meeting everyone who stopped by our booth. We handed out kites and reusable bags, and it made our day to see how excited the kids were as their kites took flight. From little ones learning how to fly their first kite to seasoned kite enthusiasts enjoying the breeze, the festival was a great experience for all ages.

Kids had a blast enjoying inflatables, train rides, and the petting zoo. Families were excited and full of energy throughout the day, especially as they gathered for the evening’s main event – the concert by the Jolly Ranchers. And of course, local food vendors made sure no one left hungry, serving delicious snacks, cold drinks, and tasty treats.

The weather reminded us all that Laredo summers are hot, hot, hot! Even with our fan running at full speed, believe us – we felt the heat just like everyone else. We enjoyed talking with people about their day, their favorite kite designs, and their plans for the summer.

Speaking of the heat, we’re already working on something special to help everyone stay cool at future events – a canopy tent with air conditioning! Hopefully we can introduce that on our next outdoor event.
